The National Aquatics Centre, a highlight of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, offered Roca a unique opportunity to showcase its innovative and contemporay designs for in a singular space that reflects a commitment to both creativity and sustainability.
Roca's Khroma and Hall collections, energy-efficient Loft-E faucets, and Oslo compact WCs and Euret urinals were chosen for their distinctive designs and durability ideal for high-traffic areas. Combining aesthetic appeal with resilience and efficiency, these products met the demands of one of the world's most important events in a densely populated country.

Roca was chosen by the organisers of the Olympic Games because its products meet strict requirements in terms of water conservation. Accommodation in the Olympic Village, home to the 16,000 athletes who took part in the 2008 Olympic Games, is characterised by the use of renewable energy, including solar power to provide some of the lighting, and the collection and recycling of rainwater.
Designed by Ennead Architects with Thomas Wong, the Shanghai Astronomy Museum combines scientific and cultural symbolism. Roca’s bathroom products were chosen for their clean, modern design and ability to withstand constant use in public spaces. The Gap WCs, Site urinals, Chic urinals concealed inlet, L20-E basin mixers and Berna undercounter basins offer a perfect balance of durability and style. The sensor-operated faucets and urinals provide a touch-free experience, improving hygiene and reducing water consumption at the same time. These features ensure that the bathrooms meet both the museum’s aesthetic standards and the practical requirements of maintaining a clean, durable space in high-traffic areas.
The upgraded toilets feature Roca’s Hall and Beyond collections, which provide adaptable solutions for high-traffic areas, and L20 faucets with water-saving technology. The elegant Chic urinals are paired with Sentronic electronic urinal flushing systems, offering touch-free convenience for maximum hygiene. The Access collection improves accessibility for all visitors, creating a welcoming environment for all.
With a capacity of 42.968 people, it will also be capable of hosting other events such as shows, exhibitions and trade fairs.
In 2024, Roca is an official sponsor of Alinghi Red Bull Racing for the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona. The headquarters are located at the city’s Port Vell, or Old Port, and feature some of Roca’s innovative products including water-saving faucets, operating plates and smart showers.
